London’s hotel scene is infamously swank and reveals no signs of slowing down. With brand-new, trendy homes popping up constantly and old-time classics transforming themselves, the British capital has something to offer every kind of well-off traveler. For proof, look no more than the new The Twenty Two, which just opened its doors on April 19 at 22 Grosvenor Square in the stylish Mayfair district.
The residential or commercial property is described as “the Westside hideaway for the innovative and the curious,” according to a news release sent to Travel + Leisure, and it certainly lives up to that description. Set within a sophisticated Edwardian manor, it boasts 42,500 square feet of impeccably created areas and luxury amenities inspired by classic French design.
The hotel features 31 spaces and suites, including a different Mews house changed into a two-story suite, a restaurant, and a private members’ club.
“My aspiration for The Twenty Two was to develop a space where the innovative and the curious, in London and globally, can come together and feel welcome; a living room of sorts where visitors feel inspired and in the house in their environments. I worked together with Natalia Miyar to bring my vision for this property to life– a juxtaposition of classical style with a contemporary twist,” hotel owner Navid Mirtorabi said in the aforementioned release.
The duo looked to 18th-century classical French design to motivate the interior spaces and included modern-day references through pops of color, rich textures, and customized upholstered pieces.
The elegant rooms that span seven different classifications are embellished with vintage, antique, and custom-made furnishings making no 2 alike. The Classic and Superior rooms, for example, feature a richly saturated color scheme in blue paired with deep reds developing a stylish contrast.
And the dining establishment at The Twenty Two is everything about the color blue, with 4 customized shades of the shade included in the décor. There, clients can dine on seasonal menus of British classics with a Mediterranean twist and sip on a choice of beautifully crafted cocktails and red wine.
The Club at The Twenty Two functions four exclusive spaces– a personal dining space, a disco, a bar, and a lounge with a terrace overlooking Grosvenor Square– all booked for hotel visitors and patrons.
