” This year’s Vacation Homes of the Year range from a city oasis and a relaxing ranch home under $400 a night, to a beachfront estate that can sleep the whole family and more,” John Gieselman, president of Expedia Brands (which owns Vrbo), stated in a press release. “Every single Vacation Home of the Year has a beautiful view, and combined, boast seven personal swimming pools and fire pits, 8 jacuzzis, and even five putting greens.”
Vrbo’s Vacation Homes of the Year include the “Happy Roadrunner” in Phoenix with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and resort-style backyard, just minutes from the best activities the city needs to offer. In Dripping Springs, Texas, the “Riverfront Hideaway” is set on 5 Hill Country acres with direct river gain access to and a substantial wraparound balcony that connects the open-concept living space with outdoor dining locations. “Trestle House,” in Winter Park, Colorado, is a ski-in/ski-out home simply steps from the slopes, and only an hour-and-a-half drive from Denver.
This year’s perk property, “Villa Luna Nueva,” is situated in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It’s the only holiday home on the list located outside the U.S.
I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Palm Springs, California, Vacation Home of the Year, and even as a rather seasoned travel writer who’s had the great fortune to remain at first-class properties around the world, I was wowed. The instant view of the light-filled living space, high ceilings, swimming pool, fire pit, and poolhouse lounge is really spectacular.
